02Data Collection
Tacklog collects no personal data whatsoever. There is no registration, no sign-in, no profile, no telemetry and no crash-reporting service. The developer has no server that the app talks to, and therefore receives nothing about you or your fishing.
The trips, catches, spots, tackle, reminders, goals and settings you enter are created by you, on your device, and are never transmitted anywhere by the app.
03Data Usage
All processing happens locally. Statistics, charts, streaks, badges and the pattern finder are calculated on the device from your own records, in order to display them back to you inside the app. There is no cloud processing and no profiling.
04Data Sharing
Tacklog does not share, sell, rent or transfer any data to anyone. No data is sent to the developer, to advertisers, to data brokers or to any analytics provider.
The only way data leaves the device is when you deliberately export it: the Export function writes a JSON or CSV file into the app’s own documents folder and may then be shared by you through the Android share sheet to a destination you choose. That action is entirely user-initiated.
05Data Security
Records are stored in a local Hive database inside the app’s private storage sandbox. The spots database, which can contain your personal fishing marks, is encrypted with AES-256 (HiveAesCipher). The encryption key and app settings are held in flutter_secure_storage, which uses the Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage provided by the platform.
Because nothing is transmitted, there is no data in transit to intercept.
06Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device for exactly as long as you want it. It is removed when you delete individual records, use Settings → Clear all data, clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. The developer holds no copy, so there is nothing to request deletion of.
07No User Accounts
Tacklog has no accounts, no login, no email capture and no social sign-in. It cannot identify you, and two installations of the app have no way of being linked.
08Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Tacklog is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from any user, it collects none from children under 13 either. No behavioural advertising or tracking of any kind is present.
09Your Rights
You hold your data directly, so you can exercise every right yourself and immediately:
- Access & portability — export a complete JSON backup or a CSV of your catches.
- Rectification — edit or delete any record at any time.
- Erasure — Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall the app.
- Objection / restriction — not applicable: no processing leaves your device.
10No Third-Party Services
Tacklog integrates no advertising networks, no analytics or attribution SDKs, no crash reporters, no social SDKs and no cloud backends. The open-source Flutter packages it uses (for local storage, secure storage, charting, routing, file sharing and the in-app web view) run entirely on the device and transmit nothing on their own.
11Permissions

12Google Play Data Safety
The Data Safety declaration for Tacklog states: no data collected and no data shared. There is no data deletion request mechanism because there is no server-side data to delete — deletion is performed entirely within the app.

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app’s Play Store listing. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
